El Dorado Jr Cougars Football and Cheer

Since 1986, El Dorado Jr. Cougars Football and Cheer has been devoted to benefiting and advancing football and cheerleading through youth sports activities by providing an opportunity for youths in our community to participate in a supervised, organized, and safety oriented program free of adult ambition or personal glory.  We are a non-profit organization established in 1986.  The founding members are Dennis and Denise Parrish, John and Carol Edwards, Maria Momsen, and Matt Cathy.

                                                                        
We currently have four teams (Jr PeeWees, PeeWees, Jr Midgets and Midgets) in the Sacramento Youth Football (SYF) organization.  Other teams in our league include:  Union Mine Jr Rattlers, Golden Sierra Jr Grizzlies, Capital Christian Jr Cougars, Mesa Verde Jr Mavericks, El Camino Jr Eagles, Highland  Jr Scots

For football our age groups start at 6 years old and go to age 14 (8th graders).  We are now playing in a football league with unlimited weights allowing additional players to gain football experience prior to entering high school.

For cheer our age groups start at 7 years of age up to 14 years of age (8th graders). 14 years of age who are in 9th grade in a non-public school may also play. 5 years of age and 6 years of age can also participate as mascots for cheer. 

The El Dorado Jr. Cougars coaches and staff are all volunteers.  Fundraising is an important part of keeping the organization running.  All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
