  1. When is 2010 Registration for football and cheer?

    We will be at Open Houses for the following schools within the El Dorado High School District: Pinewood, Sierra Ridge, Camino, Sierra School, Schnell School, Markham, Sutter's Mill and Gold Trail. Please view the calendar for specific dates in May.

  3. How much is registration?

    2010 registration costs are $300 for football and $400 for cheer. We offer you a chance to obtain business sponsorships and to sell raffle tickets in order to offset your out of pocket expenses. Please contact Scott Cambridge/530-363-5002 or Callie Cambridge/530-391-7715 for more information.

  4. Why is cheerleading registration more than football?

    Cheerleaders' uniforms have to be custom made and the girls get to keep the entire uniform, practice gear and accessories. Football players only rent most of the equipment.

  5. When can my child start playing football?

    We accept children in the ages of 7 - 14. We are looking at a possible flag football program for 6 year olds to get familiar with football.

  6. When can my child start cheerleading?

    Cheerleaders age requirements are different from football. We can accept children as young as 5 years old. They are used as mascots during the season. Typical ages are from 7 - 14 years old.

  7. When is the first 2010 registration date and location?

    The first registration date and location will be the Kid's Expo, April 10th from 10 - 3pm.

  8. Can any child in El Dorado County sign up?

    No. We are considered a youth feeder program to El Dorado High School. Any child living within the El Dorado High School district boundary can participate.

  9. How do I know if I am in the El Dorado High School district boundary?

    El Dorado Union High School District has created a boundary map that provides a representation of the district.

  10. What schools are feeder schools into El Dorado Jr Cougars?

    Elementary Schools: Pinewood (Pollock Pines), Camino (Camino), Sierra School (Placerville), Sutter's Mill (Lotus/Coloma), Schnell School (Placerville), Gold Oak (portion), Charlie Brown (small portion), Indian Creek (small portion)

     Middle Schools: Sierra Ridge (Pollock Pines), Camino (Camino), Markham (Placerville), Gold Trail (Lotus/Coloma), Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, small portion), Herbert Green (small portion)

  11. My son or daughter attends home school. Can he/she participate?

    Yes, as long as he/she resides within the El Dorado High School boundaries.

  12. How long is the season?

    Football season is one of the longest seasons for sports. We begin the first week of August and end the first week of November.

  13. Is it true, practices are five days a week?

    Prior to the first game practices are five days a week. Once we have the jamboree the practice schedule goes down to three days a week.

  14. How do I become a coach?

    In the near future we will have updated forms on the web site. New coaches must fill out a coaches application and undergo background screening. We are always looking for new volunteers to help.

  15. Where are the games played?

    We are a league that falls under the Sacramento Youth Football (SYF) League. The SYF has 24 teams including ours. We travel down the HWY 50 corridor and play teams in Sacramento and within El Dorado County.

  16. How did the Jr Cougars do last year?

    We had three football teams go to the playoffs with two of those teams reaching the championship. Our cheerleaders placed 3rd in SYF Cheer Championships held in November.
