  1. When is 2011 Registration for football and cheer?

    We will be at Kid's Expo, April 9th. We will also be at Open Houses for the following schools within the El Dorado High School District: Pinewood, Sierra Ridge, Camino, Sierra School, Markham, Sutter's Mill and Gold Trail. Please view the calendar for specific dates in May.

  2. Where can I go to register?

    Our first registration date is April 9th during the Kid's Expo at the County Fairgronds. We will also be at Open Houses for the following schools within the El Dorado High School District: Pinewood, Sierra Ridge, Camino, Sierra School, Markham, Sutter's Mill and Gold Trail. Please view the calendar for specific dates in May.

  3. How much is registration?

    2011 Football Registration - Prior player with equipment bag ($300), new player ($325), Mighty Mite ($55)

    2011 Cheer Registration - Prior cheerleader ($275), uniform ($175), Mighty Mite ($55)

  4. Why is cheerleading registration more than football?

    Cheerleaders' uniforms have to be custom made and the girls get to keep the entire uniform, practice gear and accessories. Football players only rent most of the equipment.

  5. When can my child start playing football?

    5 - 6 years old - Our new Mighty Mites program

    7 - 14 years old - For tackle football

  6. When can my child start cheerleading?

    5 - 6 yars old - Our new Mighty Mites program

    7 - 14 years old - Cheerleading for tackle football program

  7. Can any child in El Dorado County sign up?

    No. We are considered a youth feeder program to El Dorado High School. Any child living within the El Dorado High School district boundary can participate.

  8. How do I know if I am in the El Dorado High School district boundary?

    El Dorado Union High School District has created a boundary map that provides a representation of the district.

  9. What schools are feeder schools into El Dorado Jr Cougars?

    Elementary Schools: Pinewood (Pollock Pines), Camino (Camino), Sierra School (Placerville), Sutter's Mill (Lotus/Coloma), Schnell School (Placerville), Gold Oak (portion), Charlie Brown (small portion), Indian Creek (small portion)

     Middle Schools: Sierra Ridge (Pollock Pines), Camino (Camino), Markham (Placerville), Gold Trail (Lotus/Coloma), Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, small portion), Herbert Green (small portion)

  10. My son or daughter attends home school. Can he/she participate?

    Yes, as long as he/she resides within the El Dorado High School boundaries.

  11. How long is the season?

    Football season is one of the longest seasons for sports. We begin the first week of August and end the first week of November.

  12. Is it true, practices are five days a week?

    Prior to the first game practices are five days a week. Once we have the jamboree the practice schedule goes down to three days a week.

  13. How do I become a coach?

    New coaches undergo a background screening. We are always looking for new volunteers to help.

  14. Where are the games played?

    We are a league that falls under the Sacramento Youth Football (SYF) League. The SYF has 24 teams including ours. We travel down the HWY 50 corridor and play teams in Sacramento and within El Dorado County.

  15. How did the Jr Cougars do last year?

    We had three football teams go to the playoffs with two of those teams reaching the championship. Our cheerleaders placed 3rd in SYF Cheer Championships held in November.
